Call for Abstracts

You are invited to submit abstracts for poster presentation at the Canadian Nutrition Society (CNS) Annual Conference. A small number of abstracts may also be selected for a presentation* (~15 minutes) during a conference session.

Please read all the information below before submission.

KEY DATES

Authors of accepted abstracts must register to attend the CNS Annual Conference - either for in-person or virtual attendance.**

Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to participate in the CNS Annual Conference Virtual Poster Expo and in-person conference (should they be attending in-person). For the Virtual Poster Expo, authors will be asked to upload a .pdf of their Poster along with a 50-word summary. A short video explanation (~2 minutes) of the poster research is strongly encouraged.  Accepted abstract authors are required to sign up for Disqus, a program that enables the opportunity for dialogue between poster authors and visitors. Disqus can be accessed easily and is free.

** As CNS develops the 2022 Annual Conference program, we are currently planning for a hybrid format that will provide the option to attend either in-person (full program) or virtual/live-stream (partial program).  All accepted Posters will be required to be posted, at minimum, in the CNS Virtual Poster Expo.  Should the evolving COVID-19 situation allow for in-person/on-site participation, CNS will have poster display boards at the conference venue to allow authors who are attending in-person to also present their research to in-person attendees. Poster authors will ultimately decide whether they prefer to register and attend the conference as a virtual delegate, or an in-person delegate. As the health, safety and well-being of participants, speakers, supporters and staff are of utmost importance to CNS, we are continuing to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation and hope to make a final decision on our conference format by the end of February 2022.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

* Session Presentations - If you are interested in being considered for a presentation during a conference session, please indicate “yes” to the question: Would you be willing to give an oral presentation at the CNS Annual Conference? YES / NO.  The CNS Annual Conference Program Committee will make the final decisions regarding abstracts to be included as session presentations in the conference program. Presenting authors will be notified regarding presentation format and will have the right to accept or decline at that time.

REQUIRED ABSTRACT FORMAT

Please note that abstracts that do not adhere to the required abstract format (as indicated below) may be subject to return to author and require resubmission (an additional fee).
